INLEIDING PROBLEEMSTELLING

In het dorp Heijplaat wordt veel georganiseerd; een groot deel door de bewoners, maar ook veel van buitenaf. Opgezet als innovatieve projecten, maar niet allemaal even vruchtbaar. Door contact te leggen met het dorpsbestuur hebben wij inzicht in lopende projecten en toekomstige plannen. Heijplaat was vroeger een dorp voor havenarbeiders. Nu kan iedereen hier komen wonen. De bedrijvigheid in de haven is niet minder geworden en het dorp is nog steeds omringt met havenbedrijven. Door deze verschuiving van het gebruik van het dorp wordt er anders gekeken naar de omgeving. Hierdoor ontstaat frictie. Een actueel project dat op Heijplaat voor verdeeldheid zorgt is de bouw van een nieuwe loods aan de Heijsehaven. Een stuk kade dat in het hart van het dorp ligt. Een locatie met een nieuwbouwflat en lege kavels klaar voor nieuwbouw.


MOTIVERING

Het onderwerp van frictie op deze speciale locatie zorgt voor een complex probleem. Als grafisch ontwerper kan ik tools ontwikkelen om deze probleemstelling aan te pakken. Door het inwinnen van informatie, het structureren hiervan en het omzetten naar een product kan het probleem toegankelijk worden gemaakt of zelfs opgelost worden.


KADER

Aan de Heijsehaven is voor de kade al een lange tijd een bestemmingsplan voor een havenbedrijf. Door de goede ligging is Condor met het havenbedrijf in contact gekomen om een loods te bouwen. Deze komt naast de bedrijven waarmee Condor intensief samenwerkt (Franklin en Bonn & Mees). De locatie van de loods, die 25 meter hoog wordt, ligt tegenover 'Heijse blick'. Een nieuwbouwflat die er vanaf 2010 staat. Deze flat is ook 25 meter hoog. Hier ontstaat de meeste frictie tussen bewoners en havenbedrijf. Daarnaast heeft het invloed op het omliggende gebied waar kavels liggen die klaar zijn voor nieuwbouw.


DOELSTELLING

Tijdens de opdracht werk ik samen met Anne Fleur van mode. In het kader van onze opdracht streven wij ernaar een objectieve partij te zijn. Door een neutrale houding aan te nemen denken wij het best te kunnen bijdragen aan de tegemoetkoming van de probleemstelling.

introduction problem definition

in the village Heijplaat is a lot of organization. a large portion of this initiated by the inhabitants. and some of it from outside of the village. posed as innovative projects but not all viable. contacting the village council we got insight in all the projects and future plans. Heijplaat used to be a village build for the harbor workers. now everybody can live here. the industrial harbor is still in full swing and the village surrounded by harbor companies.
due to the changed living circumstances in the village there has been friction.
a fairly new project initiated on Heijplaat is causing friction between some groups involved. across a new flat that has been there only four years a company is going to build a warehouse. on the side of the water across a four year old apartment building and empty parcels.


motivation

the subject of friction on this special location poses a complex problem. as a graphic designer i can create tools to get to grips with this problem. through the process of gathering information, structuring information and develop a product i can make the subject accessible and maybe even find a solution.


frame

for some time there is a zoning plan from the harborcompany for the dock at the Heijseharbor. due to it's geographical location Condor contacter the harborcompany to build a warehouse. Condor has a intensive working relation with the two companies already on site (Franklin and Bonn & Mees). the location of the warehouse is on the opposite side of Heijse blick which has been there since 2010. this building is also 25 meters high. this location is the conflict zone for harbor company and villagers. it also influences the empty parcel ground next to the building which is ready to be build on.


objective

during this assignment i will be working together with Anne Fleur. she studies fashion. with our subject we are eager to be an objective party. with this neutral attitude we think we can contribute to solving part of the conflict between the company and the villagers.
